Ultimate Driver Challenge: The Road to 2 Million Miles 

 

Setting the standard for safety is part of our mission at Don Hummer Trucking. One of the ways we demonstrate this is through our recently revealed safety recognition program – The Ultimate Driver Challenge: The Road to 2 Million Miles.

When we began re-evaluating our safety recognition program in the early months of 2022, we approached the task of completely overhauling it with our drivers in mind. The goal was to show them our appreciation and reward them for the immense effort put into being a safe driver. Another component was to find a way to include the drivers' families at home that support them in such a demanding career. 

All of this foresight lead to our Ultimate Driver recognition program being developed to celebrate the safe miles driven at Hummer. Beginning at 500,000 miles our professional drivers are highlighted on the Ultimate Driver Recognition wall and move up the wall every 250,00 miles milestone. The most obvious location to proudly display this wall is our Homestead Driver's Lounge, which is updated monthly to reflect the drivers' achievements.

In addition to being recognized on the wall display, drivers will receive a custom award for each new milestone they reach. These awards are for their family to proudly display at home. They will also receive credit at our online company store to use toward custom merchandise featuring the program logo. Once drivers reach the 1 million mile mark, they also get a decal to display on their truck. Portions of the program have been rolling out over the past couple of months with the final phase expected to launch during the fall/winter of 2022.

As the program continues to evolve and grow, we will be adding more public recognition pieces on our social media and websites, as well as adding a sister program to recognize the longevity of careers at Hummer. Be sure to stay tuned for all of the upcoming changes!
